Being a conceptual designer requires you to have at least 2-3 years of conceptual design experience with a agency design department. The Department of Design provides the academic structure for the advancement of Graphic and all forms of Information Design instruction at CCSU. The Department of Design offers a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic / Information Design and a Master of Arts Degree in Information Design. Also when you turn in your portfolio it must have chock-full of conceptual design that will knock the creative team off their chair. Having the knowledge of using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, In Design and Illustrator are also required to become a conceptual designer, since you’ll be doing lots and lots of art using those programs. Doing production is a really important thing to do as a conceptual designer, so learn how to work quickly and efficiently. And lastly, they also require you to have proof that you drew on the walls as a kid.

Actually they require you to make art that contains lots of detail. So a day being a conceptual designer may actually be a long day. If I was a conceptual designer, I will probably be tired by the end of the day, since you have to illustrate your art, then code it up and repeat your process until you're done.
